Japanese BBQ beef short rib in a Yakiniku marinade
SERVES 2
INGREDIENTS
500g beef shortribs (sliced)
1 cup light soy sauce
1/3 cup mirin
1/3 cup sake
2 tbsp sugar
1 red chili
1 tbsp chili powder
1 pear (super ripe, peeled and grated)
8 garlic cloves (minced)
2 tbsp finely grated or minced ginger
4 spring onions (finely chopped)
1 tbsp sea salt
Pepper to taste
METHOD
Place all ingredients (except beef short ribs) into a large mixing bowl and mix until evenly incorporated.
Add sliced beef short ribs to a deep tray and cover with marinade and allow marinate for 24hours - 3 days (the longer the better), before you cook them
